BP and RUBIS (through its subsidiary VITOGAZ) have reached a partnership agreement for the distribution of LPG motor fuel through the BP service station network.
Under the terms of the agreement signed between the two companies, from February 2006, RUBIS will provide the logistics and distribution operations for LPG motor fuel in the 104 existing sales outlets of the BP service station network distributing LPG (some 7,000 tonnes per annum).
Through this partnership, RUBIS will become one of the leading French retailers of clean fuel, with a total of 341 sales outlets and some 23,000 tonnes distributed.
This development, which offers VITOGAZ good geographical coverage and diversification of its network, will allow it to optimise logistical supply costs.
It should be remembered that LPG motor fuel is recognised for its environmental qualities, with reduced emissions of CO2 and a lower percentage of nitrogen oxides and particulates than conventional motor fuels. New registrations of LPG vehicles have been increasing rapidly over the last two years: up 26% in 2004, with an increase of nearly 35% expected for 2005.
